How each session is structured

Targeted intake form

Students submit the specific concepts they need addressed 24 hours before the session, rather than a general subject area.

Approximately ten minutes reviewing the concept with custom figures, focused on the point where the student's understanding broke down.

The first question is worked through by the instructor, the second jointly, and the third by the student independently, for every question type covered.

About

Background and approach

Many students receive tutoring that walks them through a textbook without explaining why the underlying concept works.

That distinction matters. When understanding is built on a flawed foundation, additional practice problems will not correct it. This approach begins at the root of the misunderstanding, which requires genuine depth in the subject to teach accurately.

Session structure is deliberate: an intake form completed at booking, concept instruction from first principles, and practice sequenced to build toward independent work rather than continued reliance on a tutor.

The objective is for students to enter a test, provincial exam, or their next chemistry course understanding both the solution and the reasoning behind it, as well as develop a strong foundation for higher-level coursework.
